Every child’s smile is different, so treatment is always tailored. Fixed metal braces remain one of the most effective and predictable ways to move teeth, especially for more complex cases. However, for suitable patients, we can also discuss more discreet brace options, including:
For older children and teenagers who feel self conscious about the appearance of their braces, these alternatives can be a good choice while still delivering excellent results. Your orthodontist will explain which options are clinically appropriate at your child’s assessment and outline the costs involved.
At the brace consultation, you can expect:
1
A thorough orthodontic examination of your child’s teeth, bite and jaw.
2
Discussion of concerns – for example, crowding, spacing, protruding teeth or bite problems.
3
Records as needed, such as photos, impressions or X-rays, to help plan treatment.
4
Clear explanation of options, including whether braces are recommended now or at a later stage.
5
Written treatment plan and costs, including payment options and an estimated treatment timeframe.
There is no obligation to start treatment, but if you do decide to proceed, your £100 assessment fee is deducted from the total cost.
