Kate Ohlson-Turner

Kate qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2013. She was one of only a handful of students to be awarded her degree with Honours.

She completed her foundation training on the Wirral before completing several years post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Special Care Dentistry.

Kate then spent time working as a Community Dental Officer and Outreach Supervisor for undergraduate dental students in Newcastle.

For the last 10 years, Kate has worked exclusively in Oral Surgery developing her skills in various hospitals across the North East. Alongside, her role in practice, she also works as a Specialty Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Arrowe Park Hospital.

Her extensive hospital-based experience has enabled her to develop particular expertise in the surgical management of complex dental problems and the care of patients who may require additional support.

Kate achieved membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and has a Post Graduate Certificate from Edge Hill University in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice.
She has also passed the SAAD National Course for Conscious Sedation and has achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation from Newcastle University.

Her clinical and academic interests have led to publications in several academic journals, including the prestigious British Dental Journal, as well as presentations at national dental conferences. Kate is a member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons.

Kate is known for her calm, down-to-earth and caring approach. She particularly enjoys treating nervous and anxious patients and has a natural ability to put people at ease. Her relaxed manner and sense of humour help patients feel comfortable, while her extensive surgical experience allows her to provide efficient and reassuring care. She is particularly proud of her reputation for making the surgical removal of teeth feel much less daunting than patients might expect.

Outside of work, Kate is a real family and local girl. She has young twins, so most of her time is spent looking after them! Kate is from the Wirral and loves all things about the surrounding area. She is an avid padel player, keen chef and goes to the gym whenever she can
