AirFlow ® is an increasingly popular method of teeth cleaning that is favoured by those with more severe stains, such as long term smokers and coffee drinkers.
The system uses a focused jet of compressed air, water and bicarbonate particles to polish away stubborn stains from the surface of the tooth. Airflow® cleaning is a great way to simply and effectively brighten your smile. It will remove surface staining but will not lighten the base colour of the teeth. Also, it is not permanent and stains will return within 2 – 12 months depending on your diet/smoking/cleaning habits. To achieve permanent lightening of the base colour of your teeth, see ‘Teeth Whitening’. Stains that are removable include tea, coffee, wine, curry and tobacco. We highly recommend Airflow® before undergoing tooth whitening.
